River to River Festival: "Electric Midwife"

First up, it's NYC Dance Week. This Saturday, get in sync as part of the River to River Festival. See choreographer Beth Gill's new work Electric Midwife. It's taking place at Pier 15 and showcases synchronized dancing. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.

Open Rehearsals For "Astral Converted"

And before Trisha Brown Dance Company debuts its new work Astral Converted at the Park Avenue Armory in July, you can see open rehearsals on Governors Island this Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The presentation is in collaboration with the with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the River To River Festival. And it's free.

Ailey Extension Free Dance Classes

Accept "Except" LGBT NY"

At the theater, Tony award-winner George Faison is celebrating gay pride in Harlem with a new play call "Accept 'Except' LGBT NY." It's at the Faison Firehouse Theater, which is located at 124th Street between St. Nicholas and Morningside Avenue. The show runs now through July 8 and tickets are $20.

CELEBRATE BROOKLYN! at Prospect Park Bandshell
