Composer and lyricist Richard Adler has died.
Adler was one half of the team behind such classic musicals as "The Pajama Game" and "Damn Yankees." He shared Best Musical Tonys for both of them with songwriting partner Jerry Ross.
The song "Heart" from "Damn Yankees" became a standard, as did dozens of other songs like "Hey There," "Hernando's Hideaway" and "Rags to Riches."
Ross died of a lung ailment in 1955.
Adler also staged and produced several shows for U.S. presidents, including the one for President Kennedy which featured Marilyn Monroe singing "Happy Birthday."
Richard Adler was 90 years old.
