Two members of the City Council are calling for a state law requiring all potential private school employees to be fingerprinted.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and City Councilman David Greenfield said they'll propose a resolution that asks state lawmakers to mandate that private schools follow the same fingerprinting rules as public schools.
All public school teachers and staff in the state are required to be fingerprinted.
The proposed resolution comes after a New York Times Magazine article earlier this month that accused three teachers and coaches at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx of molesting students at the school between 1978 and 1994.
