Smokers can once again light up in state parks, at least for now.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has said restrictions on smoking at state parks, beaches, pools, and historic sites will be voluntary for at least two months.
The restrictions were put into place in April.
A smokers' rights group objected and threatened to sue, saying the Cuomo adminstration failed to consider opposing views.
A full rule-making process, including public comment, on the smoking restrictions is underway.
