It was quite a scare for some people in Central Park on Saturday after a tree crashed to the ground.

It happened near 66th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Fire officials said a tree fell, almost hitting several people. No one was hurt.

Witnesses who were hit by the tree's branches said they're fine, just a little shaken up.

"We were just sitting there and it just fell on top of us, that was it and the next thing I knew I was on the floor," said one witness.

"Suddenly we hear this crackling noise and then we were just on the floor and hit to the ground and the branches were on top of us and we crawled out and it was really surreal and weird, just really shook us up," said another witness.

The Parks Department has cleared the tree away from the area.
