Sources say detectives are searching in Mexico for the man who allegedly stabbed a soccer coach to death on a Manhattan street.
25-year-old Michael Jones was found on West 14th Street near Fifth Avenue Sunday morning with multiple stab wounds on his neck and body.
Sources say police are focusing on a Queens man, Orlando Orea, who they say bought a one-way ticket to Mexico with cash Tuesday morning.
Sources say Orea got out of the country just hours before his name was discovered and placed on a watch list.
Police say the alleged killer had been in a fight over a woman at a nearby bar and may have mistaken Jones for someone involved in that fight.
Jones, who lived in Westchester, was a coach with the New York Red Bulls Youth Training Program.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday morning at First Baptist Church in White Plains.
