Police Investigate String of Harlem Car Fires

Police are investigating after a number of car fires were reported early Tuesday morning in Manhattan.
A NY1 viewer sent in a picture which shows damage to the back of her car parked on 144th Street and Lenox Avenue after the one behind it was destroyed.
Fire officials say three calls came in between about 3:45 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. in and around Harlem.
Police say the string of fires appear to have been intentionally set.
"This is a shame. We work hard and this is really a shame," said one Harlem resident.
"Not good, not good, because now I mean cars not gonna be safe out here," said another resident.
"We have to worry about not only vandalism or someone breaking into your car but now with someone torching your car so its just a, it's a tragedy," added a third.
Police say they are canvassing for surveillance video and possible witnesses.
