Columbus Students: Truck Company Will Refund Stolen Phones

There may be good news for dozens of students at Columbus High School in the Bronx who had their cell phones stolen from a storage truck.
According to students, the man working in the truck said his company's insurance will refund the phones.
Police said the truck was robbed at gunpoint by three men on Tuesday.
They said the thieves stole 25 to 50 phones.
Cell phones are banned in schools, but students and parents said the city should rethink that policy.
"I live pretty far from my school so my parents always need to keep in contact with me," said one student. "So now I'm just like, 'How do I keep in contact with them?'"
"I honestly think they should stop the rule," said a parent. "A lot of parents are single parents and they have to find ways to reach their kids and everything like that. I'm a single mother. I have to be able to reach my daughter. My daughter's a teenager. I have to know where she's at at all costs."
After the ban went into effect, storage trucks popped up, charging students $1 a day to store their phones during class.
