Police are investigating after a woman was pulled from the Hudson River Thursday morning after crashing her car through a guardrail at the water's edge.

It happened around 10 a.m. along 96th Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway.

A witness told police he was cut off by the woman in the southbound lane.

He said the woman then pulled a U-turn and ended up driving the wrong way headed towards Riverside Park.

When police arrived they found the car partially suspended over the guardrail and the woman already in the water.

She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

The car has since been removed from the river.
