Queens Teacher Charged With Statutory Rape Of 13-Year-Old Student

A Queens teacher is facing charges including statutory rape after authorities say he had an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old female student.
Investigators say Charles Oross, 44, a teacher at IS 238, had a sexual relationship with the girl while she attended the school in 2009.
The alleged relationship continued on school property and in Oross's car for more than a year.
Officials say the two also exchanged inappropriate emails and Facebook messages.
NY1 talked with one parent who said she's surprised to learn about what happened.
"Of course it make you concerned, because I can't speak today on how the teachers are, but they're pretty good here. And if it is true, it's shocking," said the parent.
Oross was removed from the school last month.
