A city firefighter whose SUV ran down a Brooklyn man over the weekend is being suspended without pay for 30 days.
The New York City Fire Department says Patrick Quagliariello of Ladder 172 had been placed on administrative assignment prior to Tuesday's decision.
Police say Quagliariello's SUV struck and killed Manuel Tzaguachiac, a 25-year-old Guatemalan immigrant, as he was crossing 65th Street in Bensonhurst early Sunday.
So far, police have been unable to determine who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Investigators are trying to use forensic evidence to determine who was driving.
