Times Square will be closed off for this year's "Broadway On Broadway" event, which starts at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
A giant outdoor stage will feature musical numbers from more than 20 different shows, with a huge standing room-only space for thousands of attendees.
"Mamma Mia," "West Side Story" and "The Lion King" are just some of the favorites set to be there, along with sneak previews of three shows never seen before in New York.
Tom Tompkins, the president of the Times Square Alliance says people should arrive a few hours earlier for the best spots.
"One of the reasons the city is willing to close down Times Square for this event is because Broadway is so important to this city's economy," he said. "It's $5 billion in economic activity, and it's not just people who go to shows and support the Broadway industry, but then they stay in hotels, they go to restaurants."
