Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr. joined the effort to get city youth to pull up their pants on Friday.

He unveiled a billboard outside the Bronx PAL center on Webster Avenue that calls on youth to "Stop The Sag" and appeals to kids in the Bronx to better their image by pulling up their pants.

He said that fashion statements and social statements go hand in hand, and that the youthful fashion could send the wrong message.

The "Stop The Sag" campaign was launched in April by Brooklyn State Senator Eric Adams. In the past, Adams has called the style unkempt and degrading and said it leads to "self-inflicted stereotyping."
