The former CBS television producer who pleaded guilty to trying to blackmail "Late Show" host David Letterman was released from prison Thursday morning after serving four months of a six-month sentence.
Robert "Joe" Halderman got a pass on the final two months for good behavior but still has to complete 1,000 hours of community service.
The producer admitted to trying to blackmail Letterman for $2 million, over affairs he had with his staffers.
Halderman is glad to be out of prison and is looking for a job, according to his attorney.
