A New York City Police Department officer who was injured in the line of duty paid a special visit Thursday to his Brooklyn precinct house.
Carlos Olmedo returned to the 62nd Precinct in Bensonhurst two months after suffering a head trauma that put him in a coma.
Olmedo was hit by a motorcycle while pursuing suspected car thieves in May.
He underwent brain and leg surgeries and will continue to undergo intensive rehabilitation.
Olmedo says he hopes to return to work someday.
"It's very great to be here, and it's very great to see that many people missed me," Olmedo said.
"I think it's a testament to his tremendous courage. He has deep faith and an amazing family and those things come together to enable us to all share this this day,"s aid Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
"His recovery I think is part of his strong will. He always had that as a cop, and we're still seeing it," said NYPD Officer Marlon Key.
The suspects Officer Olmedo was pursuing were arrested.
The motorcyclist was not charged.
