One of the two city firefighters charged in a Brooklyn bar brawl in January was cleared Thursday by the Brooklyn district attorney's office.

Firefighters Ryan Warnock and Michael Reilly were originally arrested in February on charges of first-degree riot and third-degree assault in connection with a brawl that took place on January 29 at the Salty Dog bar, a known firefighter hangout in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

The district attorney's investigation says charges against Reilly have been dismissed and a grand jury reduced charges against Warnock.

NY1 first reported on the fight involving active and retired members of Engine 310, Ladder 174, who were all off-duty and drinking at the time of the fight.

Prosecutors say their investigation shows that Warnock actually threw the first punch that started the fight.

Further investigation showed that Reilly was trying to act as a peacemaker, instead of fueling the brawl as first thought.

Warnock is now charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct.

No trial date has been set.
