The man convicted of trying to blackmail David Letterman was led out of a Manhattan court today to begin serving his prison term.
Former CBS producer Robert "Joe" Halderman pleaded guilty in March to grand larceny.
As part of the plea deal, he agreed to spend six months in prison and serve 1,000 hours of community service.
Halderman admitted he threatened to reveal details of extra-marital affairs Letterman had with staff members if he was not paid $2 million.
Instead of paying up, Letterman alerted authorities and disclosed the affairs during his show.
