Former Yankees outfielder Melky Cabrera was suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball Wednesday after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

The Major League Baseball commissioner's office said the 27-year-old tested positive for testosterone.

He'll miss the rest of the regular season.

Cabrera played five seasons with the Yanks.

The current San Francisco Giants outfielder leads the majors in hits in 2012 and was named MVP of the All-Star Game in July.
