NY1 VIDEO: The 1994 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to controversial Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, sparking outrage in New York's Jewish community. Arafat was recognized for his role in the 1993 Oslo Accords with Israel, which called for implementation of Palestinian self-rule in parts of the West Bank and Gaza, but those who considered him a terrorist were outraged by the honor. NY1's Michael O'Looney filed this report on October 14, 1994, the day Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize.
