NY1 VIDEO: NY1 continues its look back at two decades of reporting with a look at March 18, 1997, when a funeral was held for Brooklyn hip-hop artist Christopher Wallace, who was known as "Biggie Smalls" and "The Notorious B.I.G.," and his fans lined the streets of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn to pay respects as a motorcade bearing the body of the gunned-down rapper drove past.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: The killing of Biggie Smalls remains unsolved. Books and articles written on the topic speculate about the involvement of rival rappers and a police cover-up, but no one has been charged in the case. A wrongful death suit filed by his family against the city of Los Angeles was dismissed in 2010.
