Lots of leather and lace walked down the runways of Herve Leger and Monique Lhuillier this season. NY1’s Michelle Park filed the following report.

It's the year of the dragon, and Monique Lhuillier's runway rang in the luckiest year on the lunar calendar with red printed lace and red leather accents.

"Red is vital in the collection because it’s the year of the dragon, so I pulled the importance of that in the collection," says Lhuillier.

Lhuillier says she was inspired by a sci-fi goddess warrior. Silk blouses paired with leather neckties and jacquard pants with leather details gave the collection a femme fatale look.

"She's a little tougher this season, a little darker," says Lhuillier.

Lhuillier's line is a constant celeb favorite. Jay Manuel and J Alexander, of “America’s Next Top Model,” say it’s no surprise.

"She's so on point with how to dress a woman and she loves women to feel beautiful but at the same time feel comfortable,” says Manuel.

"She always ends up on the carpet. She’s one that is a guaranteed red carpet arrival," says Alexander.

For Herve Leger this season, they of course have their classic bandeau dress that everyone loves, but they're adding some embellishments that we haven’t seen before.

Equestrian-inspired accessories added some sexy restraint.

"We have a lot of harness belts and kind of more corsetry as well," says Lubov Azria, chief creative officer of Herve Leger.

From beaded detail to golden accents to arms covered in fur, the collection debuted some exciting and fresh looks.

“We have a lot of beautiful bandages that are beaded. The silhouette is again very body conscious but now we are doing pleating in the bandages, which is amazing,” says Azria.

Stars love those body-friendly silhouettes.

"It fits the curves in all the right places without us having to try. That’s why I like it," says actress Kristen Chenoweth.

It's not just the clothes that have people speechless: Azria himself is quite the charmer, leaving even the celebs star-struck.

“I just fell in love, I think," says actress Jennifer Aspen.

So this fall, it’s feminine and flirty mixed with provocative and feisty on the runway.
