Queens residents still reeling from Hurricane Sandy can breathe a sigh of relief after officials announced Wednesday that Rockaway Ferry service has been extended.

Commuters from Queens will still able to travel from Rockaway Park to Pier 11 in Manhattan through the end of January.

The $2-per-ride service was put into place shortly after the storm to help those stranded by the storm-ravaged A train line.

Despite subway service being back up and running since May 30, the service will still allow Rockaway residents to travel to Manhattan and enjoy the view of the river.

The city first extended the service's run to mid-July, and then further extended it to Labor Day.

The ferry runs through both morning and evening rush hours on weekdays only. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
