Singer Etta James has died at the age of 73.

James' manager tells the Associated Press the legendary blues singer died from complications of leukemia Friday morning.

Last month, James' live-in doctor said she was terminally ill.

She also suffered from dementia and kidney failure.

James was one of music's original bad girls, and her life included wild relationships with her family and the music industry, as well as battles with drugs.

Her famous rendition of "At Last" wasn't the original, but James' version became the most famous.

President Barack Obama danced to the song with First Lady Michelle Obama at his inaugural ball in 2009.

Meanwhile, the man who promoted James to stardom also passed away this week.

Johnny Otis' manager says the band leader and radio host known as the "Godfather of Rhythm and Blues" died at his home outside Los Angeles on Tuesday after years of poor health.

In addition to promoting artists, he was also known for songs like the hit "Willie and the Hand Jive".

Later in his life he was involved in politics, art, and even his own organic grocery store.

Johnny Otis was 90 years old.
