NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

CBGB Festival
www.cbgb.com
CBGB club may be gone but the mission lives on especially now through Sunday with the CBGB Festival of live music, films, and lectures. More than 300 acts are performing at various venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn including two free concerts Saturday -- one at Central Park's SummerStage headlined by Guided By Voices, and one in Times Square.

Midsummer Night Swing
www.midsummernightswing.org
Thursday night get ready to shake your shoulders and more. The Bhangra group DCS is playing Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park. Dance lessons start at 6:30 p.m., live music at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $17.

Golden Dragon Acrobats
www.queenstheatre.org
And another event we can all flip for, the Golden Dragon Acrobats return to the Queens Theater now through August 4. Tickets are $32 but a family four pack is just $100.

Rebecca Luker at 54 Below
www.54below.com
Despite the recent heatwave it's 54 Below in the Theater District as the neighborhood's newest nightspot welcomes Tony nominee Rebecca Luker on July 6th and 7th singing the music of Jerome Kern. Tickets are $30-$40 plus food and drink minimums.

Stray Kat Gallery
www.straykatgallery.com
Check out the pop up art gallery Stray Kat in Chelsea Market. You are sure to be energetically welcomed by the creative duo of Stella Michaels and Zane Fix. She does colorful abstract painting. He calls his work Jap-pop combining traditional Japanese imagery with America pop icons like David Bowie and Audrey Hepburn. And even if you don't buy anything at least ask for a business card on the way out. It's a slice of the real Stella Michaels' original.
