High-speed taxiways are coming to Newark Airport.
The Port Authority says the project will help reduce flight delays by helping arriving flights get to gates faster, enabling departing flights to take off with less delay.
The construction will also create 340 jobs and $104 million in economic activity.
The agency says the high-speed taxiways have already proven effective at other airports, including JFK.
Work is scheduled to begin next month.
Port Authority To Shame Toll Evaders On Its Website
Meanwhile, the Port Authority is trying a new tactic by embarrassing toll evaders into paying up.
The agency will debut a new feature on its website this week called the "Hall of Shame."
This comes days after it was reported that the Authority had lost more than $2 million in unpaid tolls and fines.
