NY1 is celebrating the success of one of our own.

Anchor and reporter Cheryl Wills took home a Front Page Award from the Newswomen's Club of New York for her reporting in our "Tale of Two Cities" series.

For months, Cheryl has been keeping in touch with and reporting on 36-year-old Cory Beckles and his Long Island City family as they struggle to overcome economic and health problems.

"I'm so proud to be part of this Tale of Two Cities series that's airing on NY1, and this award is a testament to how great it is," Wills said. "We are exposing the disparities between the rich and the poor and giving a really unique perspective on how New Yorkers live, so I'm really proud of this award."

The award ceremony was a black-tie gala at the Down Town Association in Lower Manhattan.

Cheryl is one of a handful of NY1 reporters following New York families throughout the year.

The next installment starts on December 7. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
