Denny's has officially fired up its griddles at their first location in New York City.
The Nassau Street location in Lower Manhattan features a modified design and menu items to fit in with its financial district neighborhood.
One big ticket option is a $300 version of their signature "Grand Slam" breakfast, which features a choice of favorites like pancakes, eggs, and bacon for two, complete with a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.
Those who visited the restaurant Friday morning said it fits right in on the block and the restaurant's bar director adds that was no accident.
"The owners did their homework. They've been in here for years getting to know the community, looking around at the architecture in the neighborhood, especially this building. So they wanted to match that aesthetic. We didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb, we wanted to be embraced by the neighborhood," said Denny's Bar Director Mike Capoferri.
"Denny's is sort of like an American institution and so to have one in Manhattan is pretty awesome," said one customer.
Denny's is open from 5 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week.
