The mothers of three young unarmed black men who were shot to death are headed to Ferguson, Missouri.

The mothers of Sean Bell, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown will appear on CNN Sunday morning.

They plan to talk about what it's like to lose a child under racial circumstances.

Police shot Bell outside a night club in the city on the day he was supposed to get married in 2006.

Martin's killing in Florida in 2012 sparked nationwide protests. George Zimmerman was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges in the shooting.

Brown's shooting continues to tear apart the St. Louis suburb.

Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot Brown six times on August 9.

The 18-year-old's funeral is scheduled for Monday.

Tensions in Ferguson flared briefly overnight as police and protesters clashed two weeks after the fatal police shooting of an unarmed teen.

Peaceful daytime protests gave way to unrest as night fell, but police say they made only a handful of arrests and traffic flowed freely in the area where Brown was shot.

Police described it as an ordinary Saturday night.

By midnight, the streets were absent of police in riot gear and smoke from tear gas that marked earlier street skirmishes in the first week after Brown's death.

Criticism of the military-style equipment used in Ferguson has prompted President Barack Obama to order a review of federal programs that allow local law enforcement agencies to buy military equipment.

They will look at whether or not those programs are appropriate and whether or not local agencies have the necessary training.
