Bellevue Hospital will receive more than $117 million in federal aid for damages related to Hurricane Sandy.
Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say the Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse the hospital for repairs made after the storm.
The money will also cover rebuilding plans that are still in the works.
Nearly 700 patients had to be evacuated from Bellevue after almost of the backup generators failed during Sandy.
Seventeen million gallons of water flooded the basement where most of the hospital's electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems were located.
