A man accused of stabbing two Brooklyn children in June has been deemed fit to stand trial.

Michael St. Hubert's defense attorney tried to pursue a psychiatric defense.

The 27-year-old pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and assault charges.

St. Hubert is accused of stabbing 6-year-old P.J. Avitto and his friend, 7-year-old Mikayla Capers, at a public housing building in East New York on June 1.

P.J. was killed and Mikayla was critically injured.
