Two people suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when they were hit by falling glass in Midtown.

Fire officials say workers were renovating the 18th floor of a building at 40 West 57th Street when equipment hit a window, causing glass to fall out.

The glass hit a man and a woman on the street, causing minor injuries.

The woman was taken to the hospital and the man refused medical attention at the scene.

"I saw that lady coming inside because she got a cut from the glass falling down. She was bleeding so the fire engine guys came inside to help her. They put a bandage around her head, they wrap it around and they took her to hospital," said one witness at the scene.

Fire officials say a worker on the 18th floor was also taken to the hospital.

The Department of Buildings says it's investigating the accident.
