The Rangers are getting ready for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Saturday afternoon in Montreal.

This is the second time in three years that the Rangers have made it this far in the playoffs.

They lost to the Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals two years ago.

If the Blueshirts win this series, they will advance to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since they won it all 20 years ago.

The Rangers and Canadiens have met in the postseason 14 times, with each winning seven.

Their last meeting in the playoffs was in 1996, which the Rangers won.

All three games between the teams in the regular season were shutouts, with Montreal winning two of them.

"I look forward to a great challenge to go into that town and play a conference final," said Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. "It's going to be intense. I think it's going to be a lot of fun."

"We know what their crowd can do for them, so it's going to be a challenge, and anybody that gets here now, obviously, they're peaking at the right time," said Rangers forward Brad Richards.

"Montreal is, I mean, they've just beaten the best team in the NHL, so we're going to have our hands full," said Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault.

The Rangers advanced by beating the Penguins, while the Canadiens beat the Bruins.

Both series went seven games.

Next week, Game 2 will also be in Montreal before coming to the Garden for Games 3 and 4.
