News anchor Tom Brokaw is battling cancer.
NBC announced Tuesday that Brokaw has multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
The network said that Brokaw's doctors are optimistic about his treatment.
Brokaw has been working since his diagnosis in August.
He's currently contributing to NBC's Olympic coverage.
In a statement, the 74-year-old said, "With the exceptional support of my family, medical team and friends, I am very optimistic about the future and look forward to continuing my life, my work and adventures still to come.''
