Four people, including a child, were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in a Brooklyn high rise late Monday morning.
Firefighters say they got the call to a building in the Bushwick Houses shortly after 11 a.m. Monday after several tenants reported smoke in the hallways of the 20-story building.
Officials say they suspect that an incinerator fire caused the smoky conditions.
Some tenants say it's not the first time.
"They had fire in the incinerators before, but not this bad. It's never been this bad before," said one tenant.
"From the time I've been living here, which is close to 20 years now, each building has had this incident at least once a year," said another. "If it's not in the hallway staircase, it's in the compactors."
Four people were treated for minor injuries at Woodhull Hospital.
