A 1-year-old child is home safely for the holidays, thanks to the heroic actions of a New York City police officer.
It happened Sunday in Washington Heights.
Police say Officer Thomas Dunn was on patrol when a call came in for an unconscious child inside a store.
A former EMT, Dunn resuscitated the child, who began breathing again just as paramedics arrived.
The child was treated at a local hospital and released.
Sources say the baby suffers from seizures.
The child was with a babysitter at the time.
