A Bronx man is accused of stabbing his wife to death after she found him hiding under their bed.

According to Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, 52-year-old Jose Hernandez was hiding under the bed while his wife was making a phone call.

When she saw him, that's when Hernandez allegedly stabbed her once in the back, according to Kelly.

Ana Hernandez, 47, was taken to Montefiore Hospital on Sunday night where she was pronounced dead.

Her husband was later arrested and arraigned on murder and weapons charges and is being held without bail.

A woman who worked with the victim for years told NY1 that Ana was a good friend and mother.

"She was a good employee, co-worker. She was a great mother," the woman said. "She always, you know, in charge of her kids. She's always active in her job. She was a good friend. Whenever you need something, she was always there. It was a very surprise situation that happened."

Sources say that the couple was married for 15 years and had three children together. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
