Brooklyn's newest ice rinks are ready for skaters, as the LeFrak Center in Prospect Park is celebrating its opening weekend.
The result of a $74 million restoration project, the facility features two rinks to accommodate indoor and outdoor ice skating, which means that they can hold up to 900 skaters at once.
It'll also feature roller skating when there's no ice, and swimming in the summer, which some skaters almost experienced given the warm temperatures.
"The ice is melting very rapidly," said one person. "The outside rink was a swimming pool 20 minutes ago."
"It's a lot better than the old rink," said another. "There's two of 'em, so you can have twice the amount of people. And it's so great. It's so nice."
