Police are investigating an alleged attempted sex assault on a Fordham University student last month.
Police say back on August 21, a 20-year-old woman was walking into her building on Lorillard Place at around 1 a.m. when a man allegedly grabbed her from behind and tried to assault her.
Police say she fought back, and the man ran.
Fordham University officials say the victim lives off campus just blocks from the school.
They say their security officers responded to the incident.
Students NY1 spoke with said they would like to see more security in the area, adding that they're concerned about safety near their campus.
"We have thousands and thousands of girls 18 to 21 years old walking around going to bars only blocks away from this campus, so that could be a problem," said one.
"It would be nice if there would be more patrolling going on in the community," said another.
The suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old. He is said to be about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds.
