A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder after police say a deadly domestic dispute played out on a Bronx highway early Wednesday morning.
Police accuse Diones Espinal of repeatedly ramming his car into a SUV that the mother of his young child was riding in.
It happened shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday on Pelham Parkway, near the New England Thruway.
The SUV crashed into a concrete barrier and flipped over.
Investigators say Espinal then got out and stabbed 20-year-old Katherine German to death.
German's mother, Fernanda Rivera, said that the relationship between her daughter and the suspect was plagued by distrust and abuse.
"He hit her, he send her to the hospital," Rivera said. "Very jealous. All the time, he was following her, where she going, where she's talking. It was everything in her phone, everything that she's got to do, he was knowing it."
Espinal was driving a green borough taxi.
His license has been suspended.
