1967...Mickey Mantle hits his 500th home run to lift the Yankees over the Baltimore Orioles.

1995...At a rally in Washington D.C. to honor police officers killed in the line of duty, dozens of New York City cops get drunk and wreak havoc on the Hyatt Regency Hotel, trashing rooms, harassing guests and pulling false fire alarms. One of them is dismissed from the force for sliding naked down the bannister of a hotel escalator.
