Police Engage In Brooklyn Firefight With Gunman

New York City police had a confrontation Wednesday evening with a suspect they said shot another man in Brooklyn.

According to police, the unidentified male suspect injured another unidentified 32-year-old male with one gunshot near 64 Saint Edwards Street in Fort Greene at approximately 7 p.m.

After officers heard the gunshots, they found and confronted the shooter, according to police officials.

Police said that officers chased the suspect to 24 Monument Walk, where the suspect fired at them.

Police returned fire.

Eventually, the suspect fled.

No arrests were made in the incident.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

An investigation is ongoing.
