The city has released another anti-smoking advertisement campaign.
It's called "Reverse the Damage" and while it highlights the dangers of smoking, it shows there is hope for those who quit.
The ads can be seen on television and in print, and will appear on subway and bus shelters across the city.
"The point is to tell people if that's their heart,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “They're going to die earlier than those who don't smoke, on average, no guarantees. But on average, you will live a longer, healthier life if you don't smoke. It is the single most-preventable cause of death that we know of."
The ad comes as the city kicked off its annual 16-day nicotine patch and gum giveaway.
